Clayton Watkins Construction Company, Inc. (CWC) was established in November of 1983 in Leitchfield, Kentucky for the purpose of constructing the multi-family housing projects developed by Wabuck Development Company, Inc. Wabuck Development’s President, Garry Watkins, saw the need to utilize the residential construction experience of his father, Clayton, to form a partnership that has prospered for nearly 30 years.
The owners of Clayton Watkins Construction are Clayton and Maxine Watkins of Leitchfield, Kentucky. In the 1960’s, Clayton began constructing residential homes and providing dozer and backhoe work. During this time he perfected his craft of site excavation and providing quality built homes across Central Kentucky.
Since 1983, CWC has successfully completed over 125 construction and renovation projects as a general contractor totaling more than 3,500 units across Kentucky and surrounding states. Projects have included elderly, family and special need multi-family, single family homes, duplexes, rehabilitation projects, daycares, assisted living and light commercial. CWC has completed every single project undertaken to satisfaction without fail.
Once undertaking one or two projects per year totaling 24 to 48 units under the watchful eyes of Clayton and a few good hands; CWC now has 35 employees including six full-time project superintendents. Current and completed projects stretch across Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. CWC is a licensed contractor in the state of Tennessee.
